Confusion - AT&T DSL

Ordered service for my new place, the lady who lived there before me already had service... Didn't matter, they charged me $100 for installing the line (which they didn't do) and for a modem (which they didn't give me).

The Internet was unusable between 5-11 pm, taking about 30 seconds per Mb to download my school files. Customer care said it was my school's fault. They also said it was YouTube and netflix's fault that I couldn't watch ANYTHING.

After 6 months with NO bills at all, I finally get bills for $40 per month, which I assume is because of the $20/mo promotion, except that they didn't say 6 months free, they said $20/mo. I even read the fine print.

On top of all of that, the customer service might as well be machines, since they can't do anything, and phone calls last on average of 45 min, no exaggeration. Oh, and they are open only during banker's hours.

I can't get any other device in the area, so am am basically their hostage. I'm moving in a few months because of an Internet company... You can't make that up...
