In May a Sharednet telemarketer called me over the phone. He said that I could try free web hosting with no strings attached.in getting voice authorization when we came to the part stating regarding billing after 15 days he said that that part didn't apply to me. I logged onto the site once to see what it was about, I didn't like it so I didn't do anything further.
My Mom then noticed a charge on her phone bill since the phone transaction was done on my parents line. They noticed it 2 months later on a 3rd billing. I called them to cancel the service with Jean (Rep#481) in their customer service department. She supposedly replayed my voice authorization the charge. My husband listened to the tape and said that it sounded choppy and that conversation sounded weird (i.E. It was manipulated). I just wanted to get it over and done so we just decided to close the account. Jean informed us that effective immediately the account was closed and we paid the bill for August. They stated that no further money would be due.
I then moved away from my parents house, a few months later they forwarded mail to me including a bill from Sharednet for a $29.95 for an account closing fee! The account was closed in months ago and there should not have been any further charges!
We called on them to say that we shouldn't have to pay it b/c they said there would be anymore more fees. They refused to drop their charges, they said that we were lying and hung up on us multiple times. The insulted us and said that we should have been a responsible customer and canceled after the trial. We told them they already got $120 off us for a service we didn't use and that charging us a closing fee was ridiculous.
I filed a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau and Sharednet has even bothered to respond to them!
