Ripoff. Customer Service lied about service and bill for services not agreed to

This company calls me out of the blue telling me they can send more traffic to my existing website. It would be a free 30 day trial. During the confirmation recording, they were wanting me to sign up for a web site and other service. I told them I already have one and don't need another. This would just be for exposure to my existing site. The recording was stopped several times as I questioned the sales rep, and he assured me I would not be billed for anything. Of course this was not recorded.

I never go to the site and log in or sign up for anything. So, the trial period ends and I get a bill. I call, explain the issue, and it is removed. I get another bill for service, which I call and cancel the account-again. They even told me my sales rep was reprimanded and let go. Later, I get threatening letters about owing for 2 months.

I called for weeks trying to speak to someone in charge. Finally, I sent certified letters to the CEO at the time (Peter Westbrook). No response. I filed a report with the BBB in CA. Nothing. I will not pay and have not. This was in 2001. Stay away from these crooks.
