On the recommendation of a friend, I researched online surveys as a means to make some extra money. I signed up with gjsurvey.com, a site requesting $32.95 up front with a glorious message about being able to earn that within your first hour online. The site also touted a 30-day money back guarantee.
After signing up with more than fifteen sites linked from the gjsurvey site and completing at least 25 surveys at those sites, I have yet to receive any compensation whatsoever, and I have only received one panel invitation. When I wanted to request a refund per their guarantee, I couldn't find the actual text of the guarantee on their site.
I lack confidence in this actually being a way to earn spare change in my free time. Furthermore, there were several links from the gjsurvey site that were no longer valid, and I believe it's their responsibility to keep these up-to-date if they are providing this service for a charge. I have sent two emails and left one voice mail so far requesting reference to the guarantee policy and my refund, but I have not received any response.
I know I should have researched it further or looked for red flags, but now I'm out my up-front fee and don't want others to be scammed by this site. Although the fee isn't much, nor worth a suit, I want to report the site to protect other consumers.
