Horrible Customer Service

Beware Dell. Products are OK. Customer Service is non-existent if you have a problem. I have spent a total of 7 hours in the past 2 days on the phone. I have been transferred 115 times. I have been hung up/disconnected twice and have racked up 78 minutes of being left on hold. I have been given misinformation, bogus phone numbers and summarily discounted. All of the calls are sent overseas and there is absolutely no way to get in touch with the corporate office. I have faxed, filled out the customer complaint form on line and written to them in the past with no response whatsoever.in addition the staff are confrontational and demeaning when they speak to you, even when it is escalated to the "Dell escalation Team". They have no value for their customers whatsoever.

The fact that they have no respect for their customers is even more evident as there is no way to contact the corporate office. A company that provides good service would not have to hide behind outsourced complaint departments to shield them from their customers. I am a "preferred" Dell customer, I have purchased over 5000.00 of computers and electronics from them over the past 4 years. Buy from them at your own risk and pray you have no problems. I personally will never purchase anything from them again!

In addition when I bought my last computer it came with a Dell Software Package that backed up your operating system. When I had a problem with the computer and had to reinstall the operating system I followed the directions and backed up all my data using this software. (I am very computer literate by the way). When I reinstalled the operating system and went to back up all my data I received an error message that there was a corrupted file. I contacted Dell and they said that this could be fixed for a cost of over a hundred dollars. Nice, so I only had to pay them over a hundred dollars to restore my data from their faulty software. I didn't pay it, spent over 3 hours on the phone that time and finally had someone fix it as they should have in the beginning.

Buy at your own risk and pray you never need support!
