Bill Me Later wants the victim to pay fraudulent charges! I am a victim of identity theft (2nd time) with Bill Me Later/Pay Pal. On 12/21, BML identified Jorden Harrell as the person making fraudulent charges on my account?
* 11/23: I called BML and reported fraudulent charges of $48. I left a message with the "fraud" dept and never received a call back?
* I received the December bill with late fees & interest. I called BML (12/22) and was asked if I knew Jorden Harrell (I do not). They said I need a police report. I called the police dept, and they said they need an affidavit from BML before issuing a police report. I called BML, and a gentleman said they would send the affidavit and I should receive it in 7-10 days.
* 12/28: I received a notice from the "fraud" dept stating I owe $48. I called the BML "fraud" dept @ 866-403-8634 and left a message. No one ever returned my call! I called BML customer service and was told to disregard the letter.
* 1/18, 802am: I got the first of the collection calls. A BML rep asked again if I knew Jorden Haller. I do not, and I was assured the affidavit would be sent (again) within 7-10 days.
* 1/18, 1000am: I received a 2nd call from collections. "Will not send affidavit." They need a police report? Go to the police station and have them call 1-866-403-8634 "fraud div." I tried to explain that they need an affidavit, but this person did not care what the police needed to issue a report.
* 1/18, 1030am: I went to the police dept. I spoke with an officer and gave all the information. The officer called the number for the "fraud" dept and was told to leave a message, which he left at 1125am.
* 1/18, 1244pm: The officer called and stated no one had returned his call and that he would issue a police report because BML was giving me such a "run around." The report would be ready Monday, and I should call BML with the police report number. I called BML (1255p) and gave them the officer and report information. They said to fax it on Monday.
* 1/20, 812am: Chris (sanctimonious attitude) from BML called. I went through the entire history of my complaint, and he basically accused me of lying about the police report info. He brought up past payments/purchases (which I confirmed) and stated they had my bank account information and anything else was irrelevant.
Do not ever do business with Bill Me Later. This is by far the most incompetent and untrustworthy company I have ever interacted with.
