Surprisingly I actually won a reasonably valuable prize from McDonalds during the 2011 Monopoly game. I won an EA Sports game of my choice with an estimated value of $60. I received my information to claim the prize and then went to the Origin-Store.com to claim it.
I choose the game I wanted, ended up getting an expansion pack for the Wii Active so that both my wife and I could use the workout game at the same time. This was rated at a value of $49 with shipping at ~$8 for a total of ~$57. I entered the code supplied and sure enough my account was credited the amount of the game and shipping with a $0 balance. So I placed the order and thought all was fine. This was on Nov 1 and shortly afterwards I received a confirmation email that my order was received and in progress.
On Nov 4 I received another email that my order was canceled. No other information at all was given but a link to where I could check on my order. Followed the link and sure enough it said order canceled again no explanation as to why it was canceled.
So I contacted customer service through the chat option and they took 15 minutes to inform me that the order was canceled. Which was a great help. I spent another 30 minutes getting no help and absolutely no explanation WHY the order was canceled.
I then gave up and waited two days to reconnect with someone else at customer service. I was quickly told that my issue was sent to the supervisor and I was to wait until I heard from them via email.
Two days later I received an email that I had not contacted them so they were going to close my case.
So I went to the claims page and informed them to keep the case open and to please resolve the issue. Since then I have not heard from them again. They will not respond to emails or the claim page for my complaint.
I would like to know how many of these prizes they ever actually awarded or if they just cancel them everytime.
