I had to be out of town for over a month and put 110 into my paypal account to send to my daughter for food. PayPal immediately froze my account and won't respond to my requests for information.
I called them on the phone and they said they froze it for an outstanding balance on an old account that wasn't mine. They said I had to pay them something like 35 or 37 dollars to unfreeze my $110.
They asked if I had lived at two different locations that I have never been at. I told them a few years back my purse had been stolen and they said they would do an investigation for identity theft and have never done anything. They were supposed to respond within 3 business days and it's been about a month with no word. I've tried emailing, and still nothing.
Isn't this type of activity illegal? Is there anyone who can help me? At this point I would like to get my money out of that account and close it permanently. This has become an ongoing nightmare.
