Sold me a defective device that transfers VHS to DVD on a computer

My Uncle lives with my mother approximately 2 hours away. He is elderly and febble. To help him pass time he wanted to transfer my mothers home VHS tapes to DVD for her. I searched the internet to try and find something "EASY" for him to handle.

I found this company advertized as VHS2DVDWizard. Read it several times and it seems very simple. So I ordered it for him. It arrived Based on my schedule at work, I drove to install this program on his computer, which he went and bought a brand new computer with all the requirements to make sure it would work. Loading the software was "Easy", but that is all that was easy.

When we tried to copy our first VHS to DVD it played but the sound was funky. I looked on the internet from my mother's house to see if I could find a number to call to get Tech support. Their Tech support is by e-mail only and they will answer you in about 24 hours. So I thought ok, so I drove home, from work e-mailed them. They send me a response with some new driver because we had Windows 7. So once again, based on my schedule of work, I went back as soon as I could to re-install these drivers. I followed their directions and I couldn't get it to load the drivers. I sent questions to them and asking for help, "NOW" since I was at my mothers. I explained the situation of my mother living far away and my work schedule that I was trying to get this fixed while I was there. Unfortunately, I did not hear from them until the following Monday. They said they couldn't respond to anyone requesting "NOW" because they were not there on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays. Once again, I explained the sitaution with my mother living off and my work schedule. He told me I could e-mail him the week of the weekend I was going to go back up and he would make himself available. What he doesn't understand is due to work, I might not know until that Friday that I am going to have to work or not work the weekend.

I went back to my mothers and I tried again from scratch. Software loaded but audio is horrible. I could move the device that plugs into the computer in a certain spot and it would sound right for a moment, then it would go back to that funky sound. So I took it to a local tech. He worked on it, he re-loaded it and check all kinds of things in the computer to see if drivers loaded right and so forth. Then he picked up the laptop and stretched the cable out and it worked for a second. Then we realized if we hold the cord a certain way the devices green light would stay on for a moment or two. The tech informed me the cable has a short in it. So I go to another local office supply and buy another brand of software to do this task. It loads and works and sounds just fine.

When I got home I explained this situation to the techs at VHS2DVDwizard requesting a return authroization and a refund. He told me that he has offered his time and that my time has lapsed to receive a refund. I replied by telling him that they have been informed of my situation of my motehr living off and my work schedule that I had been in contact with them bringing up the issues I had. They are still denying me a refund.

This is a rip off!!! I could understand if I had never contacted them about the problems and issues I was having or the situation of my mother living off and my work schedule. What good is talking to them when I have a piece of hardware that has a short in it. I could talk till I am blue in teh face and it will not fix the broken device. What has happened to customer service?

Buyers BEWARE!!! In one of his responses he replied that people in the past that have had problems have had to go through this e-mail help to get it going. There are no telephone numbers to call and get help. The website states how "EASY" it is, the software is but getting the proper help is piss poor. DON"T BUY IT!!!

He threatened me that he would post our e-mail transactions. That they would show the lapse in time. I told him that it would show true in what I told you how my mother lives off by about 2 hours and my work schedule. It is going to show that you can only get help by e-mail 24 hours later.

He thinks I am so stupid that I would buy a gallon of milk let it spoil then take it back to the grocery to get a refund. He must think people are so stupid but himself. As I said in one of my responses,

Kiss my a* vhs2dvdwizard!!!
