I signed up for a free 30 day trial for website services with web.com November. Several days after signing on a rep called me to welcome me and try to sell me more services, he asked why I had not started my website etc. I told him I'd changed my mind and wanted to cancel the website altogether. At the end of our conversation I was under the impression I'd cancelled the site. I just realized that this whole year—they'd been charging my bank account for a service I never used—I never even signed into that account up until today in another attempt to cancel.
I was finally able to reach one of their reps by phone and cancelled the account again (supposedly)—I was able to remove my bank card from their website, however I was still charged 166.00 for services I never got and when I asked the rep to research these charges and my 1st cancellation I was informed that they do not do refunds nor would they even look to see that I hadn't used their services. She made it clear that I would get no help in the matter with them.
I am astonished that a company can blatantly steal funds from a checking account and not be held liable for those actions—however a quick google search shows that I am only one of many that this has happened to. I think an attorney should review this for a class action settlement as they are illegally taking money from bank accounts and credit cards... Unauthorized charges—they definitely took money from my account without my consent. I feel robbed and ripped off and would never recommend anyone taking part in their "Trial" offers or giving them any type of access to your credit cards or bank accounts.
