Gateway of no help with defective recovery disks

I purchased a Gateway Notebook MD7818u on May 30. Within the time I have owned the notebook, I would have occasional freeze ups. About a month ago, I was in online and the whole thing froze up. I was able to get the notebook to turn off. But it would not restart and I would receive an error. I went online to Gateway.com and found I could purchase the exact Recovery Disks for my distinct serial number. I received the recovery disks and tried to install but the Recovery Disk 2 will not load any files. I contacted Gateway and was told that maybe the Hard Drive has bad sectors. I took the Notebook to Best Buy and they replaced the Hard Drive under my extended warranty. When I got it back and tried to install the recovery disks, I still have the same problem. I contacted Gateway again thru the online chat and was told I needed to have the problem escalated to a Level 2. I was told that I needed to check if there are any other partitions. Duh, I just had the hard drive replaced and there were no partitions. I call and try to make the India people understand but they don't care. They still get paid. I sent another online request for email and pasted each one the chat sessions. This time I got a response from someone in Kansas. Gateway's cutomer service is awful. I guess if this ever get's resolved I will never purchase another Gateway. Do not purchase Gateway's products they have lousy products that break down quickly, do not have any compentent tech support representatives.
