I wanted to purchase a new computer for my Mother for Christmas. My brother and sister were chipping in on the computer also. I rec'd a voucher from SSCH and thought I was going to get a great deal. First I was promised if they rec'd pymt by a certain date that I would receive the computer in time for the holiday.
After numerous calls and speaking to a manager named "Rocky" I still didn't receive the computer until the middle of January. I was told that they never rec'd payment, that the computers were on back order, that my credit card was declined (I paid by check and it already cleared) and that it takes longer when you pay by check. I tried to get a refund to go elsewhere to get a computer but they don't give refunds - only credit - go figure!
Then "Rocky" said that he would make sure I would ge my computer within 3 days and not the normal shipping time of 7 days. Well, I didn't get it for 9 days! The best was when I finally got the computer - I could tell that it was refurbished! It had scratches on it and was dirty. It aso came with Windows 95 and it wouldn't let me upgrade to 98 and I can't install AOL 8.0.
I again spoke to "Rocky" but I didn't get anywhere. I just learned a valuable lesson. I will never attempt to save any money purchasing anything from them again.By the way, since I made so many calls to Texas, I demanded that they give me a toll free phone number and finally I did get one.
