Never buy a used EA game and expect the company to let you play it

In short, never buy a used EA game and expect the company to assist you with setting up a new account. They flat-out refused to allow me to create an account for their Battlefield 2142 game after I purchased a used copy from a seller on Ebay. They say that the CD key is already registered to a previous owner, and they will not reset it for a new owner. That means the game is forevermore a paperweight; unplayable.

Apparently showing proof of sale, i.E. Receipts, paypal transactions and other documents of private sale are of no interest to the company. They will TOTALLY DISREGARD any "second-hand" sales of their products.

I was told by EA Customer Support that they would not even allow the previous owner to cancel their registration so that I could assume ownership of the product.

This is the second time I've purchased this game and haven't been able to use it. The first was a gift (digital download) from my father. The game worked for a month, then went through some EA Download Manager Update and required additional verification of ownership. It locked me out of the login screen, and said I had to call EA Tech Support. Since it was a digital download (No CD), they required the original credit card number used for purchase. I did not have it, and neither did my father as he had replaced the card. Game Over.

Dealing with EA regarding any money matters is an uphill fight, beating your head against a brick wall, and trying to reason with people who don't give a crap about customer satisfaction, or consumer rights. They seem to care only about selling their games, and if you happen to pick up a used copy years later, tuff sh*t, you should have filled the coffers of EA Inc.

I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE! I only hear complaints from my gaming buddies about dealing with EA's policies. Let's let them know how much they suck!!!
