When problem occurs, they refuse to fix it unless you pay

I have been a customer of Cox for years and never had a problem with them until a couple of months ago. My high speed internet connection was not stable anymore. It was going on and off within a short period of time. Every time that happened I called their customer support hoping to get some real help, but kept getting the same response..."the only way to fix it is to send our technician to your house and figure out what's wrong with your equipment, but we will have to charge you a $50 fee"... They do not even try to listen to you or try to understand what you are saying... Like I tried to explain that there is absolutely nothing wrong with my brand new equipment, it's gotta be an issue on their end. If there would be some glitch with my modem, I would never get a stable service at all, but instead the problem seems to occur not on the regular basis, but only on specific days. CONSUMERS BEWARE: Cox will never confess that they have a problem on their end nor will try to do their best to help you when you have a problem, instead the best they can offer for free is to provide you with the pathetic troubleshooting test like re-setting your modem (turn the power off, wait 15 sec and turn it back on), if this does not work, your only option is to stick with a stranger wondering around your house looking at your equipment... And getting billed for that pleasure later.
