I can not believe I have been scammed by such a company. I only found this site because I wanted to check out Alyon Technologies. I was so shocked that this has been going on for so long and that so many have been affected. This is absolutely appalling. We never accepted these services with knowledge. We were totally shocked when this bill arrived!
I recieved a bill from them in the amount of $187.31. I freaked out. My boyfriend told me what happened. He had pop up windows all over the place and was never aware of something being downloaded to his computer. Sure, he is a beginner, but he understands accept and not accept. Never was the accept button hit. He only tried to close the windows with the X in the corner.
We called Alyon and they said we had to pay the bill! That the only way this could occur is if the accept button was pressed! When we started getting quite upset with them, they put some woman on who claimed she was the supervisor. She started getting irate and threatening. She kept claiming that the conversation was being recorded, so we should watch what we say. She said we had to write a letter to dispute the charges. They had no part in the pop ups. They were just the billing company. We ended up hanging up because we got tired of getting the run around.
I wrote the letter and sent it to the PO Box in Norcross, Georgia.in the meantime, we recieved another bill stating we now owe another $215.16. Now, I call back and I get the same "supervisor" and I find out she is calling herself Amy and she can't give me her last name because she called the authorities saying we were too abusive to her. They told her not to give us her last name. Like I really believed that one. She told me they blocked us from their service. I don't believe that one now either. She even told me I could pay in installments with no finance charges. Still telling us it was our fault the charges were made.
Recently, I received a letter from them telling me in so many words that I have no recourse and it is my fault these charges have been made. They tell me I should put all these things on my computer. Yes, I know this, but that doesn't give them the right to do what they did whether I have a pop up blocker or not. They talk like they are doing everyone a favor by making it so you don't have to use a crdit card. They say you have to make all these selections before acceptance happens. That was definitely not the case. They say if the window is just closed the process ends. That's a lie! I could go on and on, but the point is, this is totally illegal!
I also found out that it messes with Microsoft software when I tried to enter certain programs on my boyfriend's computer such as entering simple things like settings and explorer. I had to go in through MS DOS. Luckily, I know how to rebuild his machine. I don't want to spend a cent on these dispicable people!
I am not paying this bill and I am writing to anyone I can. I am so upset about this. I can't believe they are still getting away with it. It is really a frightening thought. It freaks me to know people can do this without my knowledge. I hope that others will fight for something to be done too! Don't let them win!!
