Patrick Jacobs (at Web and Print Direct, Inc.) & I discussed the development (dev.) of a logo & e-commerce website (WS) on apx. 1/15/09. After several weeks of speaking daily w / Mr. Jacobs he quoted me a total WS cost of $1600 and asked me to create the WS on paper. On 2/9/09 Mr. Jacobs stated, I know your site almost as good as you do. On 2/9/09 Mr. Jacobs advised me that I needed to obtain an Internet Merchant & Gateway Account for the e-commerce WS that he was going to develop. I trusted Mr. Jacobs knew what was best for me so I set up the accounts & paid the fees. He also stated that we needed to create the logo prior to starting the WS & because he encouraged me to do so I gave him permission to start the logo.
On 2/23/09 I emailed Mr. Jacobs the Comparison & two web-pages from the shopping cart. On 2/25/09 Mr. Jacobs responded w / the following, By the way great job on the WS pages. Please keep it coming for the rest of the pages. On 3/17/09 Mr. Jacobs received the complete paper version of the WS as per our agreement. On 3/22/09 I received an email from Mr. Jacobs stating that he could not dev. The WS & perform as we had agreed. Mr. Jacobs mislead me to believe that he would dev. An e-commerce WS & asked me to create the WS for his designers. He advised me to create internet accounts that have cost me in excess of $119. His practices w / regard to the logo & WS dev. Were deceptive & dishonest. Mr. Jacob's conduct was likely fraudulent, completely inappropriate, unethical & unprofessional.
One final thought, every time I spoke with Mr. Jacobs about the prices on his website and the items included, he kept saying that those things and prices were changing. That occurred nearly every time we spoke. This company was not only very diceptive but very disorganized.
