Completely pricing rip off

What do you get, when you take big business and line peoples pockets with millions of undeserved dollars? A company like Comcast.

For starters, we got the internet in September of last year. We agreed to the "triple power play" service, because 99 a month was reasonable (albeit expensive but compared to the shoddy service from Verizon it was worth it) and a tech came out to hook up our internet/tv.

Our bill from the beginning was -never - 99 bucks. It was always at least 30 bucks more than what was quoted. If not more, Our bill at times reached 150 bucks and we don't watch On Demand movies you have to pay for, the fact of the matter is we watch Nick and The History Channel or free movies.

We were unaware of the length of our "triple pay deal" (ha) and it had apparently been up in Nov of last year. Our bills didn't reflect that much of a change, still being over billed for service that anywhere else you could get for much less.

Then come a month ago, our bill was 300 some dollars. I'm sorry but my MORTGAGE is 300 dollars, what would justify anyone to pay that much for internet? We paid 260 off the current bill and that was that. Or so we thought. Next thing we know, we're getting a bill for an additional nearly 500 bucks. After that bill we received another notice via email that another bill was available to be viewed. This brought our bill current to over 600 bucks.

What I don't understand is, if we brought our bill close to current how we owe 600 bucks. Luckily from some issues before I had the email of a head honcho from Comcast and gave him a shout. He had someone call who confirmed that we owed 600 bucks and they wouldn't restore services, not to mention the reactivation fee.

This is completely unacceptable but Comcast holds it's position that we in fact owe them that much money, luckily we have a neighbor that has internet that we are able to piggyback off of as long as we split the bill.

This is still angering because I have a small IT/web design company that I run from my home that relies on the internet to keep going.

Way to go Comcast, you guys need to realize how completely ridiculous it is to change ANYBODY over 200 a month for 3 services that most people don't even need. Think of all the resources people have nowadays to get movies/watch tv. Think of how many people have cell phones, or can find a wireless connection to get online with. Do you really think you can get away with what is very well highway robbery?
