I too assumed I was ordering a sample of Acai Berry tablets for the cost of shipping. There is a place where it says you will be getting a monthly shipment (very hard to find) That is one thing. Then came charges from FitFacs to my bank account. WHO? They did answer and canceled the account. So far so good.
I thought that would be it. No. Today I happened to look at my Qwest bill online. I have autopay and paperless billing so it is good that I looked. Also a $14.95 charge from UnitedTel. WHO? Oh, of course, Findyourdiet. How could I have forgotten about them? Oh, I didn't because they are riding the shirt-tails of the other companies. Hidden. Deeply hidden. I called and talked with a rather abrupt and rude lady.
I said I never heard of them and wanted to cancel the charges. I said who are you and what do you do? I told her the company was buried in the end of some other ad. Very loudly she said "That is not true at all. We are on the up and up.in business for 7 years." I told her I didn't sign up for any such online diet program. She told me all of my personal information and said that all she could do is flag the account. If it came back as someone else fraudulently using my info they would refund the money. If it came back to a user on my computer they would not. I told her it would be mine but that is not what I initially signed up for.
All I wanted to do was try the Acai Berry tablets. She finally said it was cancelled though. But I will be watching closely to make sure. Luckily I called the phone company and the gal there removed the charge and the pending charge for next month.
Never again will I try something like that. Live and learn. At least I have been lucky to get these things cancelled. I HOPE!
This is a terrible way for any company or person to make a buck. Complete Fraud I would say.
