Received a call from a gal offering free advertising on YP.com. She then switched over to a "fill-in-the-blank" recording format in order to record if we were over 18, authorized to open and close accounts on behalf of our business, etc. She reiterated (on the recording) that the first month is free, and the last question was "Do you agree to the service, yes or no." We had answered yes to all of the previously (now monotonous) questions, and this last question was slipped in. Immediately after, the salesperson described that this would be a monthly service, and we quickly said we did NOT want to use their service. She hesitated, then said "OK." On hanging up, it was our understanding that we would NOT be signed up for their crappy advertising service.

One week later, we received an invoice for their monthly service, in spite of the fact that the "free one-month trial" was not even close to up. We called them and stated we did not want to continue with the service, in light of our "faux pas" when we said 'yes' on the recorded call. The salesperson stated they would deactivate our account. Done deal, and we'll send a confirmation email. Never received the confirmation email, but did receive another bill, now showing a "Past Due" amount. One month free, right? Think again.

After the first bill, in addition to calling to cancel, we went to their customer service website and asked for them to cancel on the website. We received an immediate response, complete with a support ticket number, stating that a customer service agent would be looking into it. Shortly thereafter, we received another email stating that our account had been deactivated and closed.

We now have a stack of invoices that we have received since then, totaling up to over $150 for a service we never authorized, have taken steps to discontinue within the trial period, and never wanted in the first place. After speaking with a Customer Service Rep today named Brandon, we were, once again, assured that our account is closed and that we have a zero balance. This was done "as a show of customer service" as if they're doing US a favor. He claimed that if we had tried to cancel the service, that the service would have been cancelled, and that YP.com and Livedeal.com "performed their jobs perfectly." I'm not kidding - he used those words.

This is an idiotic excuse for a company, and they have no idea if they're coming or going, contradicting themselves while remembering to send certain documents while conveniently forgetting to send others. Buyer beware! These guys are slippery, predatory and manipulative.
