I noticed a reoccurring subscription from this company that I did not knowingly sign up for. From research I have done this is easy to do if you have used their website for any services. Don't feel to dumb if you've been caught up in this too. I managed to get all charges refunded. Here's how.
Go to the website at http://www.intelius.com and login to your account. Go to manage account and find the link to "My Purchases". Write down all order numbers reflecting charges to your card.
Call 877-974-1563 to reach Intelius Customer Service and select menu item #2 for Identity Protect. WAIT as long as it takes to get an answer (could take 20 minutes).
Do not opt to send them email.
Ask the rep who answers to cancel your subscription. They will request your email address to look up your account. They will reverse the last charge. Tell them you would like ALL charges since your subscription started reversed. They will tell you they can't do that. Tell them you are ready to take legal action and request to speak to their supervisor.
When the supervisor gets on the phone, greet them but do not let them start talking.
Tell them that:
#1 You have researched their company and are aware that numerous complaints exist.
#2 That if they are able to reverse one charge they are able to reverse all and that you are going to give them all the order numbers for them to look up. BE FIRM.
The supervisor will tell you that they already know the order numbers (they have your account info on their computer). Have them read you the orders they are cancelling and verify they match what you wrote down earlier. Get a confirmation number.
Within 5 to 10 minutes you can login the website and go to "My Purchases" again and you will see evidence of the refund. The trick is to keep asking for the persons supervisor until you get someone who will do what you want.in spite of what they say, a refund of ALL charges is possible if you keep insisting and don't take NO for an answer.
