Globis, Brendon Horvat, Anthony Meszaros
Just a breath away from disaster! Vamhaz Korut

I also was searching for something I could do part time for some extra cash, when I discovered Globis. I do not recall whether they contacted me or if I came across them thru one of the job search engines. (I saved all emails except the initial contact made.) I was offered the same thing, you could do part time, 3 hours per day, for $380/week the first 4 weeks, then $450/week after that, as a "Local Representative", with a bonus every 4 months of 1% of total sales generated by you. Or you could be a "National Representative" and work 5 hours per day at a $700/week the first 4 weeks, then $850 a week after that, and a bonus of 3% of total sales generated by you, every 4 months.

I was provided a website to check Globis out, and it all looked legitimate, and even the PDF mannual they sent for me to learn the job looked legitimate. It was slightly complicated enough to make me think that this was a real employment opportunity, and I felt I could do a good job at it. What gave me a hint of uneasyness at first, was the fact that the English grammar and spelling was not totally correct and wording was not professional-like, as one would expect a global company to posess. But I just figured that it was due to the fact that, being from Hungary, perhaps they needed a better interpretor to proofread the website. (I considered offering to edit the site once I gained employment.)

Since I wanted only part time, I opted for that and let Brendon Horvat, the initial contact person know. Once I filled out the agreement with my address, signature, and copy of my driver license picture (numbers were covered, as was DOB), for verification of address, and scanned and emailed it, I was turned over to my "supervisor", Anthony Meszaros. He contacted me by email, explaining that he would be my supervisor and during the first 4 weeks of my employment, he would be online during the same hours I planned to be online so that if I had any questions I could easily reach him.

I was urged to hurry and open a bank account with Wells Fargo, spefically, and it was to be a savings account. I felt uneasy about this, and when I went to open the account I was open and honest with the lady there, who advised me to get more information on the company, or at least a phone number that I could speak with someone there. She was suspicious because my only contact with Globis was through email. So I told Anthony that I was unable to open an account at Wells Fargo due to discrepencies in credit report information that came up on my name when the account advisor did a credit check on me, and asked him if there was a phone number I could call him or someone else at, to discuss the situation.

He advised me that because we are in opposite time zones, I would be unable to reach him by phone at a convenient time for either of us. He then suggested that I try opening a bank account at either Bank of America or Citibank, since I was not able to immediately open one at Wells Fargo. Along with one of the emails, he sent an attachment of a form that I was to fill out when I got an account opened, with bank name and address, my name and address, type of account, my account number and routing number.

Then something told me during the night, last night, to check further into the company and see what I could find about them. One thing I found was the vagueness of the company name "Globis". I checked on the form that I signed, which stated the salary and duties, etc., and all it said was Globis in most places.in one place it does refer to "Globis Company".in my search, there are numerous Globis entries. The one entry I found that brought me to the same website I was provided by Brendon, was Globis LLC. It sort of eased my mind, and for a short time I had convinced myself that all was legitimate, and I should go ahead and open the bank account.

Turning to the Better Business Bureau, I found nothing, but figured it was not unusual, since the company was not in the US. Then I used another search engine and typed in Globis. On the second page, I was brought to complaint site, and found the report from the other lady on 11/6/08.

My fears have been confirmed now, and I can thank God that I had an urgent feeling to research this company. Unfortunately, they already have my signature, picture and photo, from the initial contract agreement. I pray that it does not go any further, but am thankful that I did not open a bank account and send them the information!
