Order placed 12/8/99, confirmed order # received from eToys that item was in stock, shipping 4-10 business days. No arrival by 12/20, tracked order at eToys site on 12/20/99 and message said "order not shipped yet"
Attempted to place call to 800 number, customer service, for 2 hours... Line continuously busy. E-mail to customer service produced auto response that "their goal was to reply within 24 hours". They tout their service in the company profile at their site as being excellent, and this is totally misleading.
I think there should be some way to inform potential customers of the actual record of e-retailers... How often shipped when promised... How long it takes to contact customer service. If I had had any warning of lack of eToys customer service I never would have placed order with them. And hope this helps others to avoid the same mistake.
