Rhapsody. Comwww. Free trial comes to the tune of $1368 Internet

What I believed was a free 14-day trial wasn't. I knew that I had to give them a credit card to ensure that if I went over the 14 days, THEY would get their money. I read everything, I even had to check little boxes to prove I read everything.

Less than 48 hours into the free trial, my bank called me and asked if I had authorized several charges from Rhapsody. I told them of the free trial and my banker then told me that it didn't seem like a free trial if I was getting billed in $. 99 increments.

I then called Rhapsody and had an interesting conversation with a man who's English made me suspect that he was in the East Indies. I did however get my account closed, but that was about all I could understand from the man. I then went to my bank, and asked what could be done. I was informed by one teller that I could file a dispute with Visa, but she didn't think it would do any good because Rhapsody had billed everything in $. 99 increments, and Visa will only dispute cases with a minimum of $9.99. The teller said she would bulk them all together and see what could be done.

I was able to get a hold of a person at Rhapsody again and demanded some action. Again someone from the East Indies who's English was better, but still hard to communicate with. He transferred me to a second level supervisor, thank God this woman was American! I spoke with Sandra and the best she could do was to put in a request for $25 to be returned to me. I asked about the rest of the $1368 and she told me that I would have to fax a copy of my bank statement (as proof that the charges and over the limit fees were really from Rhapsody), brief discription, name, address and phone number. I faxed the report to the Account Specialists Customer Services Department. This was yesterday and of course the account specialist only work Monday thru Friday. From the time I signed up to today, Rhapsody's web page has changed, and now they are advertising on t.V. The same trial, but there isn't any listing about restrictions.

I have tried to get a resolution from Rhapsody and from my banks Visa department. I did read the fine print, if I had seen anywhere on their page that there would still be charges I wouldn't have signed up.
