I check my account on a daily basis and last night found over $500.00 in fraudulent charges originating at I-Tunes. The phone number associated with the charges is a recording with no way to speak to a real person. They want you to leave your name and number... Don't do it! I do not, and never have had an i-tunes account. I do not download music from the net.
My check/credit/atm card has now been cancelled and pending charges were removed by the bank's computer last night when i reported the card stolen. You must go to your bank's website (which is usually open 24 hours) to do this. Then, they will either send you the proper affidavits to sign and return, or you can go to your bank and sign the affidavits there which will speed up the process.
This has apparently been going on for some time as many other sites have discussions and reports regarding this scam, the earliest i've found is over a year old.
This occurred right after i ordered merchandise, over the phone, from Nordstrom's at Mall of America. Nordstrom's will be informed in order that they may investigate their employee also. I hate to do that to someone, but, it is quite suspicious that it occurred after that call.
Fortunately, my bank has replaced all the money and has started a formal investigation.
