I called to cancelled my account with Peoplepc for dialup service on May 20. The representative tried to get me to take another 2 months service for free and I told him I was not interested and absolutely did not want the service. He gave me a confirmation number. I asked just to be absolutely certain if he understood I wanted the account cancelled and would I ever receive another bill from them and he told me I would not be billed again. I had read the reports from others saying they could not get their accounts cancelled and were repeatedly bill for this service. So, I was expecting the same would happen to me. So I repeatedly asked him if this account was cancelled and he assured me it was. Yesterday I get a recorded message on telephone answering machine from them requesting that I update my billing information. I called them and they tell me my account had not been cancelled that it was still open just like the stories everyone else has told. I called my credit card company and I found they had charged my credit card for $10.95. So, here I go. I am going to do everything I can to expose Peoplepc and their fraudulent practices.
