I emailed Windows and they responded quickly and said to call them ASAP. This is what the email says.
Thank you for contacting Microsoft Customer Service.
I understand that you are continuously getting pop-up called Antivirus 2009 and you would like to remove it. I realize the importance of the issue and will assist you in reaching the right resource.
I would like to let you know that the pop-up you are getting are not from Microsoft, it is a third party pop-up.
There have been users who have had the same issue. Antivirus 2009 displays a fake warning message to make you purchase the paid, full version of Antivirus 2009. It will also make false and fake claims on its ability to detect and remove spyware and malware, when in fact it itself is a malware. The similarity in interface with Windows is artificial and is purposefully composed in this manner to deceive users. I would like to categorically bring to your notice that it is no way connected to Windows or for the matter Microsoft. Once it installs, many users face difficulty in removing it and it compromises the security of your system.
Hence, I recommend that you contact our Security Support Center for best assistance in removing virus and worms from your system. Please note that Security-related product support is now available at no-charge to all customers through Microsoft's Strategic Technology Protection Program (STPP). To access this service, you may call the STPP toll-free number at (866) PC SAFETY (866-727-2338). This service is available 24 hours.
