My experience of working here has been awful. I felt like a second class worker and was made to feel like that on many occasions as there is a distinct us and them attitude.By this i'll clarify that all new employees at IBM are contractors (fulltime) and only ex factory workers are still IBMers who have some benefits (ie if they get paid off like most of them seem to look forward to).
Contractors and Ibm employees do the exact same jobs in the departments but IBM employees have a larger holiday entitlement/a bonus and better sickness cover. This means that the contractors who have to carry the can for IBM employees on a daily basis.
Thats why i left, i would suggest they are not encouraging progression (oh yeah your lucky to get any training and don't even think you'll get certificates) and not looking at the bigger picture. Ie ok your IBM employees will stay on but they'll become a stagnant workforce -IT is a fast-paced changing environment and when you have people in the company for a long time they become institutionalised and make unrealistic decisions. Ie -lets get rid of the internet to save some money!
