The electrical cord on the original iBOOK is prone to electrical shorts where the cord plugs into the computer. This cord is flimsy and the casing cracks where the cord bends. Apple admitted to us there was a design flaw with this cord, but it took them a month to send us the new cord. Without a powercord, the computer was inoperable and so we were not able to use the iBook for that month. The battery also did not live up to its advertised capacity of 6hrs. We would get 3-4hrs life. This may have been related to the cord short, and we got the battery replaced also.
