I signed up on 06/29 with the assurance my card would not be charged if I canceled within 30 days.
I spoke with Erwin Pena, and as a real estate broker, he assured me that I would love the service.
I checked out the full service for $124.95 for 3 months subscription.
I canceled on July 3. It just wasn't what I thought it would be.
I received an email letting me know my card was not charged. See below:
Your monthly subscription with RealtyTrac was canceled as of 7/3 8:40: 03 PM PST.
Your confirmation number is: 8722415-E7O7
You were not charged for the subscription since you canceled during the trial period.
But they did charge the card and continued to charge me monthly until I noticed it doing my taxes in April.
I contacted him many times (I have the emails) and he said he would look right into it etc and then ignored me. I got Amex to refund all the monies except the first charge (over 6 months old).
Erwin would not respond to requests from Amex so they reinstated the charges (according to their agreement with the vendors). I have since filed a complaint with the BBB of Irvine, the FTC, and I am going to file a complaint with my State's Atty General for interstate fraud. I have their email saying they did not charge me.
