There is NO money back..
Yellowpages.com has an army of salespeople out there who are figuratively beaten and literally threatened every hour of their waking lives by the management of this AT&T subsidiary to twist the truth and slam unsuspecting small business owners. They are trained every Monday at grueling sales meetings and hourly via cell phone the rest of the week to prey upon unsuspecting victims and then threatened with grade school-type punishments if quotas are not hit!
An example of this extra training is when a sales representative doesn't make the numbers, they are sentenced to telemarketing after hours until 10:00 P.M. Nightly until things improve. The spouse and kids be da*ed! It's company first or you're OUT!
Yellowpages.com feels, rather knows, they have a limitless amount of representatives who would kill to get in those sales spots. It pays well because the profit margin is near 100% over product cost! No rep wants to end his already high-pressure day to endlessly dial business after business for four hours until things improve. Kids in soccer, baseball, basketball.? Too bad!
The vacation they offer is the biggest joke in all of salesdome! They offer an unprecedented three weeks of PAID vacation in the first year. Presumably because they understand the demands of the job and that their people work tirelessly for their valued clients wellbeing! Baloney!
A sales rep can earn vacation and actually go on vacation however the sales QUOTA REMAINS IN EFFECT the entire time they are away! If the quota is $2,500 billable new listings per month and you're vacation has you at $2,000 that month you're on probation and have to do the above mentioned punishment! It's 80-90 hours a week, every week with no vacation when the rep is NOT on "double-secret probation". Believe me, your rep is going to slam you and slam you hard!
I had the displeasure of visiting one of Yellowpages.com sweatshops recently. The sales reps filed in at 7:00 and started fretting amongst one another. Whenever a manager was heard to walk by or come toward one of them they quickly, but reluctantly dismissed me and buried their head in work or quickly grabbed a phone, pretending to drum up more business.
They were all brainwashed under the most dire of threats to tell me it was the greatest sales job they ever had only for fear that I would mention to their boss that So and So said thus and so negative remark They were automatons delirious with fear.
Here's a great example of what manner of company this is:
A woman who was recently hired was hit head-on in a car accident on her third week of employment. She was hospitalized and released to return to yellowpages.com after about a month of medical leave. Apparently, during the course of her hospitalization, a massive cancerous cyst was discovered and found malignant. She scheduled a surgery and submitted the paperwork for her leave TO REMOVE CANCER FROM HER BODY! The request was denied by yellowpages.com and she was told VIA PHONE FROM THE HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT that if she pursued the operation and recovery time she was out of a job! This is a true recounting and I swear to the veracity of what I witnessed first-hand!
With this example, among other constant threats hanging over the reps head, they are indeed going to lie and cheat the truth. The biggest lie is Guaranteed Results and it's assumed by YOU, the small business owner that statement IMPLIES Or Your Money Back. You will never get your money back. EVER! There are small print line items on the contract that will stop you dead in your tracks. The guarantee is that you will get the WEB TRAFFIC. And that they will TRY to get you the TRAFFIC you paid for. TRY is a rather nebulous term.
Any savvy business owner with a web site can utilize similar tactics to increase the traffic to their site using the free tools provided them by the big search engines. Additionally, there are local firms out there that will do the exact same service at a fraction of what Yellowpages.com does it for. Be smart and shop around! Don't get pulled into the yellowpages.com rhetoric! Any company that burns through one professional sales representatives after another is likely using devious, duplicitous sales tactics.
There is NO money back. And there is NO cancellation of the contract. I believe the management of Yellowpages.com are hurtful, devious, evil, and worst of all, the most greed-sick people I have ever met. I feel nothing but immense sorrow for the unfortunate people who must work for these mongrels.
