Privacy Matters Misleading Bait & Switch

Trying to find the real name of the individual who rammed into my son on the CA freeway, we searched by the phone number she gave him. For a fee of 4.95, they revealed the name (the original was false). This morning an email was received with the following in the body:

Unless you cancel, your credit
card account will be charged.

I called them immediately to find out what was going on and was asked to input either the membership number, phone number or credit card number. I put in the phone number and the person who answered asked if I was _ _. It was a name I had never heard and gave him the phone number again. He wanted the credit card number or the membership number. I told him no, look it up by the phone #. Pablo came back on the line after a bit and asked me to re-state my problem. I asked him if his company was registered with the Better Business Bureau because the whole situation smelled like fraud. It became very quiet on the other end. He wanted me to respond to the email to cancel and I told him that I would not send anything from my computer and email address and wanted to know why they had all of my son's credit card information. He told me that when I signed off the Intelius site, I must have have clicked the 10.00 gift certificate offering their services. I saw that and absolutely DID NOT click it. He said he wouldn't argue with me and would cancel the membership right away. He gave me the following as a CX confirmation number - 26466. This email came shortly after:
