This rip-off of $2,753.76 goes back to 5/14/04 and since then i have been paying for a service i never used on my credit card and didnt know what i could do about it till i came across your site and i am just hoping and praying u can help me in some way with some kind of compensation.
I have tried looking for a solution but failed. Someone even suggested a small case court but this co. Is based in CT and that made it more difficult for me to do it. My husband is out of a job now and this amount is pinching me more than ever and i have not been able to forget it or get over it!
On 5/14/04, i went to priceline.com looking for 2 bargain, cheap tickets for my son and i to visit my sister in Manchester, UK who was visiting from India. I made an offer of $50 per ticket and after trying several times, could not find any match for it.
After few tries and with few unsuccessful matches, the screen suddenly said that my tickets have been confirmed. I was ofcourse very excited and as i scrolled down, to my shock, my tickets had been confirmed at a price of $2,753.76, enormous times of what i was looking for. Needless to say, i was in such tears and so upset, i decided not to take this flight till i found a solution to this problem and i never flew!
I contacted the Company and they said that i approved it and there fore they can not do anything about this as this is non-refundable or make any adjustments.
I contacted the credit card co. And they were unable to help me too saying that the co. Was not willing to make any adjustments.
Contacted the attorney General's office and tried to bring this to their attention.
Please help me resolve this.! This is too much money for me to throw away. I should be able to do something about this as a consumer!
