Fraudulent, recurring charges to my credit card and would not refund them

I started getting a $19.95/month charge showing up on my credit card bill from Blockbuster Online. I called the phone number that appeared on the bill to find out why.

I am not a customer of Blockbuster Online, nor have I ever been.

The representative (and her supervisor) told me that that I likely signed up unknowingly through an affiliate but they could NOT tell which affiliate. The only affiliates they named as examples (like Direct TV and XM Radio) are not places I have any relationship with. They could not tell me when or how I signed up. They admitted they had no email address on file me and the account they established in my name had never been used.

Still, they said "its their policy to never issue refunds." I explained it's not a refund, it's just a correction of a mistake on their part or a correction of fraud. They would not relent and would not refund my money (by then 2 months of $19.95 charges).

This is criminal behavior.

I contested the charges with my credit card company and, of course, I won. However, I should not have had to do that.
