I used Hispeed.net for my webhosting for a long time with very good results. They seemed to actually care, were quick to respond and basically everything I expected.
Then US.net came along and brought Hispeed under their wing.
Since then, I had numerous outages without explanation (even when requesting one) and the real icing on the cake was when they switched off their members' area without any warning whatsoever. What's the big deal you might ask?
Well, all changes to your domain are carried out via the members' area. Email additions, deletions, email aliases, checking billing, checking website statistics, adding counters, etc.
Now, instead of instantly being able to modify a domain, you have to make the request via email and you're lucky if you get a response within a few days.
I've moved my domain now:-)
