At&t business services rebate ripoff

I switched over from RoadRunner ISP to Yahoo at AT&T and was offered a $100.00 Visa card for switching over. I ordered it on July 23. The operator said that I would receive the Visa card within a week to ten days (7-10 days). I am sixty four (64) years old. Yahoo was connected to my business telephone line. I am a used car dealer. I have had this business telephone number since May of 1988. I have been a customer of Southwestern bell (AT&T bought them out recently) since I was around twenty one (21) years old, around forty three (43) years. During this time period, I have never missed or been late on a bill to them.

I have called them (AT&T) many times trying to secure the Visa card. They always tell me something different as to why I have not received the Visa card. It is now about four (4) months since I ordered Yahoo. Their bills keep coming, and I pay them, even though they do not live up to their promises.

On my last two conversations, I recorded the conversations with their people because I have been lied to, hung up on, and abused over the telephone while inquiring about the Visa card. The last two conversations that I recorded confirmed that I was due the Visa card. The last abusive agent that I spoke to was a preppy little girl, (she may be an old woman trying to be young, slim, and preppy. I can't see her over the telephone) named Tara, ID. # tr1037. She hung up on me on the last of these conversations, on September 19, after telling me that she entered me into her AT&T computer, and that I would receive the card in three to four (3 to 4) weeks. She said that she did me a favor (joke) by doing this since it took so long, and I had not received the card yet. Then she got mad and hung up on me.

On October 28 I received a coupon from AT&T telling me to fill it out, make a copy of my last RoadRunner bill and mail it to their address. I mailed it on October 1, and they received it by certified mail on October 4, and the return receipt was returned to me in the mail by the postman.

It is now November 6 and I have not received the Visa card. I would like to join a class action suit against AT&T if one is out there. It would stop me from having to sue in small claims court here in Texas to get what was promised to me. I also intend to file a complaint with the FTC, and if the federal government will accept charges from me I would like to file on them for wire and mail fraud. I am also going to the media and see if they will report this on the news on TV. This is not the way to treat a senior citizen.

Is this what a loyal, forty three (43) plus year customer has to do to receive what was promised by them?

If anyone has a comment on this, or if a class action suit is available, I would like to know. If I had a woman like Tara, ID. # TR1037 working for me as a supervisor, I would fire her before she got me into trouble. But then again, I am honest with my customers.
