The story is very long, but short story is this:

I built up a credit of $110.00 and continued to pay automatically through my bank $10.95 every month to maintain the $110.00 credit. I did this to prevent unforseen occurances, such as a domain name renewal. I practice this with all reputable businesses. I will continue this mothod of payment because most businesses are still trustworthy.

It began one day when out of boredom, I opened one emailed statement from them and discovered the credited amount had dwindled down to $68.00. As usual, I create a seperate folder for regular incoming mail, and I assumed this company was honest. Since I had an account set up to pay regularly, I normally didn't open the emails until that day.

I flipped through the statements and uncovered several instances showing that they double billed me — receiving the bank check and then rebilling and reducing the credited amount.

I initially confronted them, assuming they may have made an error, since I like to believe people are kind. They denied everything. They kept pointing me to the online transaction, which was undoubtly edited to their advantage. However, they forgot to edit the individual accounts they mailed to me. I saved everything to disk, including the online correspondence.

I sent proof of their double-billing as attachments of the emails they sent. They ignored this and referred me once again to the online statement.

My husband contacted them and accused them of embezzlement, which by legal standards is accurate.

They replied to my husband on August 31 (today is September 6) denying the accusation, asking for proof (which I had already provided as attachments of emailed statements they sent me) Then stated that they would have the "finance dept" send us a check for $79.99. We have yet to receive the check. I doubt we will see it.

Finally, my husband copy/pasted the actual statements of the double billing September 1, and we haven't heard from them since. Keep in mind, up until the past few emails, they responded within two days.

They admit that they owe me at LEAST 79.00 (though this is terribly incorrect) and I haven't even seen a dime of that.
$110.00 doesn't seem like much, but it's the principle of being ripped off that I will not stand for.

If this was in any way a reputable business, they would have apologized and paid me in full. However, I'm convinced this is a 2-bit "business" (if you can call it that) that's run out of the basement of a lonely geek.

To their credit, they did manage to keep my website up consistantly without down-time. However, I've also noticed they charge much more money per webspace than their competetors such as GoDaddy.

I wouldn't recommend this service to those going in and would encourage those in to find a cheaper server like GoDaddy.
