Poor Warranty Policy/Service

I am a computer sales/service center and was selling the AOpen XC Cube line of products. A customer brought one in for warranty service (that I had sold him). After much testing, I made the determination that the motherboard was faulty.

I requested and received an RMA from AOpen. I sent the computer in for repairs/replacement. I checked their web site RMA status frequently. The only update that ever took place on the web site was the original issue of the RMA.

After a month, I had not heard a word from them. I had sent an email inquiring as to the status, that went unanswered. I finally contacted my local AOpen distributor (whom did NOT sell me the system) for assistance. He contacted his people at AOpen service and got the ball rolling.

Three days later I received the computer via UPS. I unpackaged it and opened the case. I immediately knew something wasn't right because there was a trail of dust around the CPU socket that is common and is caused from the CPU fan. It looked exactly the way it did before I sent it in.

I installed all of the components, turned it on and had the exact same symptoms I had before I sent it in. I believe they did absolutely nothing to the computer.

I called my local distributor again just to give him a status update and inform him of the situation. He checked some RMA details that I didn't have access to and they said they "replaced the motherboard". That is a blatant lie. If that were the case, there wouldn't be the signature "line of dust" along the CPU socket that literally took 4 months to create in the first place.

I will NOT be reselling AOpen products in the future.
