Divorced mother on limited income, Shops around hoping to find a Great deal on a new computer so her daughter can take the old Gateway Computer to college with her. (which never gave us a problem). After a long search of stores, internet, and T.V., the ShopNBC computer show seemed to have my answer.
Jim telling us how great his v2Premier computer is, comes completely loaded, fully upgradeable, scanner, fax, printer all in one dont for get the free camera advantix and digital camera blah, blah, blah. It finally arrives, of course parts on back order, cables missing, cds missing, and no MANUALS FOR TROUBLESHOOTING.
First problem the key board does not function properly, number lock doesnt work. I call a tech wait on hold for a long time, he sends a new one because he cant find the problem by talking to him on the phone. They sent me another, this one the keys are wrong, the y is an x ect.
So I call talk to another tech, after waiting a long time on hold he tells me I need to RE-BOOT MY COMPUTER. It didnt seem like that should be the problem, but I did, I LOST EVERYTHING! I had to reinstall EVERYTHING, not them. Not a computer brain here! VERY UPSETTING TO ME. The keyboard problem was never fixed. I fiannly went back to using my old keyboard from the old computer. I had a new cd-rom put in, the all in one scanner doesn't work, cant use the lexmark fax program, i was told i may have a bad usb port, use the other empty port was what i was told,
the list goes on and its only been 8 months. I had our GATEWAY 2000 For 5 (five) years plus and its still going strong for my daughter. $1,800.00 down the drain, The Gateway back then cost $2,000.00 I thought this V2 Premier computer would have been an answer to my Prayers. Looks like i will be shopping around for a better used computer.
