Possible Computer Tampering College Station Texas

First off, if I would have found this site earlier, I would have contacted a long time ago. My wife and I baught a computer from Best Buy, December of last year. We were approved for a Best Buy card, and since there was no charges till the following year, we decide to go with it.

We found the salesman there at Best Buy extremely helpful with our purchase. After we made all of our selections, they offered their expensive warranty package, which they promised we would need, at a very expensive price. Since I have two brothers that work on computers, I found this useless. After several denials, the serviceman finally gave up. He then offered us a Computer Optimizer which he promised would take all the advertising off our computer. I agreed, and 2-3 hrs we came back for our computer.

We took it home, put it together, and for about 11 days the computer worked awesome. After that the computer would not come on so I took it to a Computer repairman, and he told me it was the Power Supply. While he was testing the power supply he noticed that one of the wires were off there connector. When he inspected it closer, he found out that it was to the fan that cooled my processor. I explained to him that the only type of service done to the computer was the Optimizer thing. He explained that each computer is visually, and mechanically inspected before it is shipped out.

Although I hate accusing people of doing things, I feel there was no way this could just happened. Myself and the serviceman feel that when they optimized my system, that they tried to tamper with it also. I am just glad that he found the wire. Luckily i have not had any problems with my computer after I had the power supply replaced.

To all of those who read this, the warranty would have not done me any good. All Best Buy Would have done is sent it back to HP since it has a 1 yr manufacturing warranty. HP said that any computer has a automatic 1 yr warranty that replaces almost everything that could go wrong. I feel by not getting Best Buy's warranty, they tried to rip me off later on down the road. I will never again buy anything from Best Buy more than $200.00.
