HSI Terrible support, Slow Connections and Network Beyond Capacity ripoff

I was a high speed internet (HSI) user for more than five years. About 1 1/2 years ago everything went down hill. For six months there was interference that took down our connection several times weekly. It took me two months of constant calling and two nasty letters before they started to address the problem.

After six months they found the problem. However, starting a couple months later we would have intermittant failures and slow connection speeds (we had the 3MBit plan but never got above 1MBit and rarely even got that).

After another year of calls, complaints and such nothing was resolved. So, I canceled and switch to AT&T DSL. I have had no problems, so far.

I wish that was the end of the story, but it isn't. We also had Cox's limited basic cable TV. When I canceled the HSI account (which I made sure they knew I wanted to keep the cable TV account) they also disconnected the TV. So far they have not reconnected, insisting it should be working.

What ever you do, avoid Cox Communications HSI. They will cheat you our of bandwidth and they will NOT deliver quality service.

I am a network administrator and have had eight years of experience in LAN's/WAN's, so I do know for a fact these problems were not something within our house. I went through 3 cable modems, 2 firewalls, 6 coax cables from the amp to the cable modem and 8 splitters.
