I purchashed a Proteva Computer system at H. H. Gregg in
Louisville, KY on May 16th of 1999. I was told I would recieve
rebates on the following; my proteva computer, the monitor and the Cannon printer. I mailed all rebates off 2 days after buying the system. I did recieve the rebate on my printer a month later. As of today Sept. 30th I still have not recieved any of the other rebates.
I have called H. H. Gregg on several ocassions and they gave me several phone numbers to call. I called the first number which was a rebate center who referred me to Proteva Computers. I have called Proteva about 20 times in the last 3 weeks and as of yet have not recieved an answer as to why I am not getting my rebates.
They have even hung up on me a couple of times. I also called HH Gregg back to let them know I was not getting anywhere
with Proteva and they basically told me it was not their problem. I really dont know what else to do, but I really dont think a company should be able to advertise merchandise with rebates if they do not intend to give them. Please give me some advice as to what I can do next if anything.

I repair computers under contract for H. H. Gregg. Unfortunately, right at the time you purchased a Proteva computer, Proteva was going out of business! The assets of the company was absorbed by a company called Systemax. I do not know whether they (Systemax) will honor a mail-in rebate, because they will not honor repair contracts Proteva had made. Proteva did make decent machines, they used well known components. H. H. Gregg appears to no longer have any contacts with what remains of that organization, nor
Systemax. Good luck with your investment.
