Recently I was approved for a notebook by Paradigm. I wanted to give it as a gift to my fiance for Christmas because he talks about getting a laptop all the time. I am 20 years old and a full time college student so I thought it was great that i would be able to make payments on this computer and still have it by Christmas.
What wasnt so great was that I was lied to each time I talked to them. When they first called me I told them I needed to think about the terms and everything they told me. Not knowing anything about computers they made it sound great. I was not told that I was paying over double what the laptop was worth nor was I told that the computer I was getting was used. After talking it over with my fiance's dad he did some research into the company, called me and told me i was getting a "prehistoric used computer"
Luckily I had my down payment scheduled to be taken out this coming Monday after i deposited my check. I have recieved no paper work but i called, cancelled and was provided with a confirmation number with a guarantee that no money will be taken from my account. I'm not too hopeful after everyhting I have read. They haven't ripped me off yet but they have lied to me and given me different information every time i have talked to them. I refuse to even buy a Gateway because I was referred to Paradigm by them.
