I applied for computer financing through Gateway Computers. I was declined, but was told that I could be approved by a company that Gateway uses for people with bad credit. (Paradigm Acceptance Co., LC)
Paradigm Acceptance then telephoned me to say that I was approved by them for computer financing. They explained the plan to me and told me that they would send me a package of information to read, sign and return.
I was led to believe that I did not actually agree to the plan until I recieved this information in writing, and no money would be debited from my checking account until I signed the authorization form that was included with the package.
After receiving the paperwork and all the forms requiring a signature, including an authorization form to debit my account, I decided not to enroll in this plan.
Therefore, I did not send back the paperwork (contract). On August 16, this company (Paradigm Acceptance Co., LC) debited my checking account in the amount of $103.71.
I called them and asked them to refund this money as I had decided to not finance the computer, and I also never sent the signed contract or the signed AUTHORIZATION TO DEBIT DOWN PAYMENT back to them. They refused.
I sure could use that money, and it resulted in my checking account becoming overdrawn. I am furious and need help!
