I had a great experience over a year ago with buy.com, so last week I decided to order a laptop computer. The tracking number they gave me showed the package being delivered to Azle, Texas, even though I live in Los Angeles, CA. I contacted UPS and they said all they could do is pick up the package and return it to the warehouse. I tried in vain to contact buy.com, but you practically have to beg them (through email) to get anywhere. Finally I googled "customer service buy.com" and found the 877 780 2464, which, as I now found out, leads you to outsourced customer service in India. The gentleman just kept saying "Wait one more business day" even though I told him over and over the package was delivered already. To the wrong state. The wrong state. Finally I asked to speak to a supervisor and he put me on hold for so long I had to hang up. I somehow found the 949 389 2000 number and I talked to another gentleman who basically said, "I can file a claim on your behalf but that's it. Do you want a refund?" I said, "You know what? I do. I don't think this is going to get any better." He couldn't give me any sort of confirmation number or verification other than his word that I would get a refund. I called my credit card compnay and filed a complaint, so we'll see where it goes. I can't trust buy.com anymore, no matter how low the prices are.
