I responded to an ad for a guide to be able to report scams using two forms purported to be not found easily elsewhere. Mr Rice, who represents himself as Joe Cynical in the guide, instead gave me access to a guide on how to write a book and tell the public my story and what I have learned from it and then sell it to the public as he had done.
Included in this book were over 100 pages of a spread sheet that I could have done in less than an hour in Excel that was termed "Potential Charts for Magazine Advertising." In the charts provided, the data is absolutely worthless and not pertinent to the subject matter used to advertise the book. The whole list was an If, Then, Else statement used in spreadsheet data very commonly. If you advertise to a circulation of 100,000 readers and you get a 2% return then you can make 59 thousand dollars. There was over 100 pages of this worthless excrement and it has nothing to do with reporting scams that are quite like the one I paid my hard earned money for.
Mr Rice used words in a manipulative manner to convey the guide as something it was not. The odd thing is that he suggests the reader write his story and sell it for $29.95, while he has written less than what he advises the buyer to write and has charged $197 for.
I want my entire payment of $197 refunded and Mr Rice should feel pleased that I am not charging him for my valuable time that I had to spend reading his vitriol.
He has written me today saying that I cannot have a refund because his policy states that I have to do what he has done and try it or he will not refund. The fact is I am a person that will not ripoff someone else so I will not carry out the same fraud he did just to get a refund. He says he doesn't want to hear about my personal beliefs and I do not get a refund unless I do what he has done.
I am also filing with the Secretary of State in Illinois and the www.ic3. Gov to report his fraudulant activities.
