My son made a purchase on buy.com and was offered a $25 rebate. He accepted and unwittingly enrolled in an entertainment discount program with greatfun.com. They began charging his checking acct $9.99 a month in Oct which we did not notice until Feb 22.
I tried calling both GREATFUN and parent company TRILEGIANT and got a "call back during business hours" message. I sent an email and got no response.
Bank statement charges appear like 1215 Feb 23
I finally called my bank (BofA) and they were able to get right through to GREATFUN cust service. The agent explained that by clicking on the "rebate" option we agreed to the charges. I demanded that we get a complete refund of basically unauthorized charges and to cancel whatever "account" we had with them immediately. The guy said this would be done and the charges would be credited back to the checking acct—even gave me a cancellation code. We'll see... I searched buy.com for GREAT FUN and found this link: Trilegiant Investigation
Unauthorized charges for Privacy Guard, Travelers Advantage, others.
