On January 5 I received my Dell desktop and right out of the box I get an error message from one of the programs that was installed by Dell. I called the help center and after being passed around for about an 2 hours they finally tell me it is software and it will cost me $99 to repair. I refused.
I find the installed manual and it tells me to make an OS disk. I follow the instructions and the command to make the OS disk is not there. I call again and same thing $99 to consult and can't even guarnatee that they can help. I tell them I get a new computer that doesn't work correctly and you want to charge me.
I get transferred to customer service (that'S a joke at Dell) and I tell them I want an exchange. They ship me around the phone system only to come back to customer service who says there will be no exchange. I ask for a return order. I get the numbers in an email only to find out there will be a 15% restocking fee and I will not be refunded any shipping.
They win the battle and I will keep the computer and cut my losses but I will bad mouth Dell to anyone who stands still long enough to listen.
This is an update. I was promised a $50 credit to my credit card within 3-4 working days for all of my trouble. I called Dell after checking to see if it had been applied which it hadn't. I call Dell (customer disservice) and they told me it has been taken away. No one could explain why or would anyone reinstate it. That was another 2 hours on the phone wasted.
Don't buy dell!!!
