Dell. ComDell Computers Dell Lies, Sent Wrong Equipment, Tried to Not Refund for 100% Ripoff

I had wanted to get my son a lap-top for his birthday. I had seen the Dell ads on TV and the internet. Their prices made me interested.

I know about computers, so, I ordered what I thought was a lap top with wireless internet capabilities (as a selected option), and able to connect through the internet with a router from the desktop.

The Dell representative I chattedd with emailed me a shopping cart with the needed equipment. When the router and computer arrived with the USB adapter, and wireless card, I connected the router. The router worked great. It was a Netgear. When I put the PCMCIA card in the slot, I couldn't get it to insert as it should. So, I tried the USB adapter. This is when I began thinking, Dell had sent me wrong equipment that wasn't compatible with the computer. When I couldn't get either to work, I made my first of 15 calls to Dell. It should only take me 45 minutes to nnetwork a house, not a whole week.

In between, I bought the lap top to Best Buy, who indeed said the lap top did not have an internal antennea. I called Dell, who said, "Well, you obviously ordered, it, and that is why we sent it." I told them I was told that the equipment and lap top I ordered was what one of their techs told me would work with a router. They denied that it didn't work with a wireless router, and said that the computer was wireless internet capable. They suggested another adapter that would work. I tried another adapter, and it didn't work. Best Buy said it did not have a PCMCIA card slot, as Dell had said it did. I returned the second adapter to Best Buy.

I called Dell (call number 13), and stayed on the phone for an hour and 35 minutes. I got no where. Besides that, I had a tough time understanding the representative, who did not speak clear English. I also had this problem almost every other time I called Dell. One person was very hard to understand, and I had to say, "Excuse me, but I don't understand." several times. On the last phone call, which wasn't getting me anywhere, but to a C:/ prompt, and a ping, which I knew to do, wiped out my DSL configurations, and with this, I decided to return the laptop.

I got credited back for most of it, and I called Dell, again, who said they'd not refund me the warrenty. They were going to make me pay for a three month warrenty, for an item I didn't even have! I said, "No, I'm not paying for one of their rip-offs, and I will put a stop payment on anything I have sent them, and, it would be worth my time to file them on usacomplaints.com, and call my lawyer if I have to. The extended warrenty was 186.00.

They called me back and said, litterally, "You'll eventually get refunded for the warrenty. That's not something we do, but we will do it for you." A few minutes later, they called me back, and asked me if I liked their service today. This again, from someone who couldn't speak clear English. I was insulted with the last phone call.

My question to Dell is, Why in the world would you be expected to pay for an extended warrenty, after you have sent back all of their equipment, and complained to them? Dell tried to charge me for postage, but I told them I would call my lawyer if they didn't refund me the entire amount, postage, restocking fees, and product, and warrenty. No wonder their stocks are slumping, it's cause they have non English speaking representatvies, who do not know their computer parts! This never would have happened if I had been told, in the beginning, that the computer can either be sent with a Prowireless card, or not, it's Dell's choice! Even if you select "wireless Internet card installed, " it's Dell's choice, not yours. Beware of Dell. They used to be a good company.
