Very dishonest merchant. They do not send invoices or packing slips with their shipments. So you have to be very careful and hope that they send all of the items you ordered.in my case they didn't. Two items which still show as being in-stock on their website were never sent to me. I asked for a refund and never got it. They shipped the wrong 512MB memory module instead of the 1GB module I ordered.
Then they said that their records showed that they sent me the correct memory. Of course without packing slips/invoices of any kind as proof to their claim of a correct shipment I had to take pictures of the memory module and send it to them. They then admitted their error in a reply email and promised an RMA email. But they never sent it. They owe me $368.95 and over 30 hours of time dealing with their refusal to answer the phone and reply to any of my emails after I asked for my money back.
Yes, I got a really good price for my Apple notebook but not after they ripped me off and didn't send all the items and sent a virtually useless 512MB module. Also I bought Applecare through them and the product packaging on the item says that it was a free product from the USC Bookstore. How did they get it? I've spent four hours on the phone with Apple and had to take photos of the notebook serial number and packaging my Apple Powerbook came in as notebookforless.com provided no receipt or invoice with the order which is a requirement when you try to activate the Applecare protection plan when you purchase it from any place other than an Apple Authorized Merchant.
I've begged apple to let me have my warranty. Luckily Apple was sympathetic. It is not worth it to buy from this merchant. I have been telling myself that I should have gone with another merchant and paid just a few dollars more for someone who had at minimum a phone number on their website. They will not get away with it though I'm the wrong person to try and screw. I keep meticulous records and received and opened the box with third party witnesses present.
Why would I take the trouble to gather witnesses to accept a package and open it? When the package arrived it came in a Frito-Lay French Onion Potato Chip Box. Obviously I became very frightened and summoned help. I kid you not, I saved the box which still has the shipping label on it. Also, the other reviews are correct, you will not get a tracking number. Ordering from notebookforless.com has been my worst nightmare. I'm certain that they will probably acknowledge this review with some lame excuses that they did do this or that but do not believe them! GO ELSEWHERE TO BUY A NOTEBOOK AS YOU WILL GET LESS THAN YOU PAID FOR. Hence the name notebookforless.com.
