OnLine TWX fradulent billing charges, stolen bank account information, unauthorized charges, time wasted on their stupidity Ripoff

I was going over my bank statement and noticed two charges for AOL*TWX Service. But there was no number to call or any other information. I call the bank and they have no other info either. So I look up the internet and find complaints about other people who have received same charges like me. One said that they call AOL and got the run a round. One said that they are still getting charged. Well I thought Oh Geese!

For one thing I don't need to sign up for AOL and was charged for it twice on my bank account. We have local service through our cable company and they provide everything that we need. And another I wouldn't sign up for aol because I don't need to.

Anyway I get on the phone to call this AOL and talk to a person in India and can't understand them, they have a thick accent. They ask me, well, we have to have the credit card that you used to open the account under in order to access the service. I say I didn't order the service so you are going to have to tell me what the credit card number is. Then they say well maybe we can look up the phone number or street address. Or she says what is your on-line name. I say hey how would I know I didn't sign up for your stupid service. So I give my phone number and they say here it is. But they won't tell me how they got the billing information. They just say that they will forward me to the cancellation dept and everything will be handled there.

So I talk to the calcellation dept. They say after I explain everything again that I will have to talk to the theft and fraud dept but I have to hang up and call another number. About now I am livid.

Now I am waiting, waiting on the phone trying to get it straightened out. After 45 minutes of waiting on the phone I got the fraud department at 800-307-7969. Supposidly I will get 90 days back of charges and a block on the account and that is it. No looking into who started the account, unless I call the local police. That is all they will ever do.

What a racket. They really do not care in the least. I told them I did a little research and more people had the same problem he was not phased in the least. Pathetic!!! Who in their right minds would ever do business with a bunch of bozos like that?

Talk about the run a round and unprofessional lackeys, out sourceing to customer service people who can't help anyone or help out anyone. Then you wonder if your identity has been stolen.

Remember all you will get is the 90 days of back charges, never mind if you get overdrafts from the bank they will not reimburse you. They told me that that is the banks problem.

I was fortunate I really received the money back, but I had to be persistant and mean and don't take no for an answer. I also told them I would file a complaint with the ftc the attorney general, talk to everyone I know about this and so forth. So here it is. Thank you.
